Emily Nichols Chapters 9 and 10
I really want to get off of this island. Jack gave us that meat, but then that horrible thing happened to Simon. We all deny that we were involved, but something happened to me during that dance. I felt different. Jack and his tribe have been causing all sorts of trouble. He attacked us at night and stole Piggy’s glasses. We had a hard enough time keeping the fire going with Piggy’s glasses. We will never be able to do it without them. Jack doesn’t even want to use the glasses to get rescued. He only wants to use it to cook his meat. We will never get off this island.

Ralph, I don't think anyone will find us here...we're left for dead. I really do respect your efforts though. The only thing we need is rules and the conch. I am not denying that I was involved in Simon's murder because I KNOW i did not do anything. I had nothing to do with it...PERIOD!
ReplyDeleteIts a shame that Jack stole my glasses. He's such a conniving thief that he would send his tribe to rob us in the middle of the night! I knew all along that he could not make his own fire and now he goes and steals my glasses so his tribe can start their own fires and feast..but what are we left with?! I don't even care about the fire..I just want to see! We can all share the fire if they want, I just want to be able to see where i am going. Besides, you're right...we all know that Jack's only interest is meat and he could care less about being rescued and going back to civilization. I just hope you can take power again, Ralph. You are the only one to bring order back to this group.
