Chapters 9-10, Carey Masson

I can’t believe what those savages have done. And that Jack let them! They killed Simon. Simon was our friend. He was one of us, and he didn’t deserve to die. He only ever did good things for us. And then those savages pretended he was the beast and just … they killed him! They’re all so stupid and reckless and don’t know how to follow the rules. If they just followed the rules, this wouldn’t have happened.

We’re saved!!! I can’t believe it. It’s a miracle. I thought we’d be here forever. I can finally go home to civilization. I guess it was a good think they were trying to kill me. If they hadn’t tried to smoke me out the naval ship would have never seen us. Now that I think about it, they were trying to kill me! How could they? We were such civilized people before this. Look what we’ve become. We killed Simon and Piggy. We’ve become savages. It’s all over though, I will never be the same but I will be able to live a long life.

Ravi Sheth 9-10

In my opinion Jack has absolutely lost his mind. He is going to bring nothing but death to the two tribes, by violence and unnecessary rivalry.  I can't believe the things I saw at the feast, and the activities I also took place in. Now I officially hate Jack for taking all of my tribe members and making them his own. I begin to wonder how Jack is going to let his group survive without any shelter. Simon is dead and we all killed him together, we all have been involved in a murder. I think the entire group has lost their mind. Jack is now sending some of my old friends to beat me up and take my fire building technique. This could only get worse from here.

Chris Lloyd - Chapters 9/10

I feel as though I have finally lost control of everything. At Jacks feast today, he invited everyone to join his tribe and almost everyone did. Later in the night we all started to dance and chant but then we saw a shadowy figure so we all thought it was the beast. In our excitement, we attacked the beast and killed it but then we realized that we didn’t kill the beast, we killed Simon.

Next day, I find out that Jack is acting like a dictator and ordering people around and punishing them for no reason. This night Jack and his tribe storm or camp and beat us up and took Piggy’s glasses.

Emily Nichols Chapters 9 and 10

I really want to get off of this island. Jack gave us that meat, but then that horrible thing happened to Simon. We all deny that we were involved, but something happened to me during that dance. I felt different. Jack and his tribe have been causing all sorts of trouble. He attacked us at night and stole Piggy’s glasses. We had a hard enough time keeping the fire going with Piggy’s glasses. We will never be able to do it without them. Jack doesn’t even want to use the glasses to get rescued. He only wants to use it to cook his meat. We will never get off this island.

Carey Masson, ch. 5-6

It really ticks me off the way Jack and some of the other boys start to question me as leader. I’m only leader cause they chose me. I didn’t choose myself. Why should they complain about something that’s really only their fault? And then they talk to me about it and go breaking all the rules that I made to make this place at least somewhat civilized. If they wanna stay here forever and die, that’s up to them. But that’s not I want.

Matt Topper Chapters 7- 8

I can’t believe this. This is insane. How could they betray me? After all I do for them. If it weren’t for me they would all be dead. Yes Jack can hunt, but that’s about it. He has no other skills. I’m in charge and that’s that. This is going to be total chaos now. This could even lead to war. I know Piggy is happy and right now we are fine on our own but this is not going to end well.
